The standard
What a GlobalDirectoryPages badge actually certifies
A badge is only worth what stands behind it. This page is the whole standard: the checks we run, how the score is built, what each tier means, and the rules that take a badge away.
The checks
Legal entity & registration
Registered business name, entity type, and formation status cross-checked against the submitted registration documents and public registry data.
Licensing
Industry licenses (real estate, mortgage, contracting, professional) read from the certificate, matched to the entity name, and checked for expiry.
Insurance
General liability and errors & omissions coverage: carrier, policy period, and coverage limits extracted from the certificate and checked as current.
Digital footprint
Website reachability, secure connection, ownership signals, contact consistency, and whether the public presence matches the registered entity.
Contactability
A working business email, phone, and address that resolve to the same entity — the single most common failure among low-scoring businesses.
Risk signals
Fraud indicators: entity/name mismatches, very recent formation paired with high-value claims, disposable contact details, and inconsistent documentation.
How the trust score is built
Each check returns a pass, a warning, or a failure, and each carries a weighted impact on a 0–100 trust score. Identity and licensing carry the most weight, because they are the checks a customer cannot perform themselves. A separate fraud score tracks risk signals; a high fraud score caps the trust score regardless of how many other checks pass. Compliance status is a plain summary of whether anything is currently lapsed, under review, or flagged.
- 80–100 — all core evidence current and consistent.
- 60–79 — verified with open items, typically a missing or expiring document.
- Below 60 — not badge-eligible until the failing checks are resolved.
Badge tiers
Basic
Identity and contactability confirmed. Entity exists, is reachable, and matches its public presence.
Premium
Everything in Basic plus current licensing and insurance evidence, a full document review, and daily monitoring.
Industry
Everything in Premium plus vertical-specific requirements, priority re-verification, and inclusion in the partner routing feed.
Re-verification and revocation
Verification is not permanent. Every verified business is re-checked on a daily heartbeat. If a license or policy lapses, a website goes dark, or contact details stop resolving, the badge grays out automatically — on the business's own site as well as ours — and the owner is told which check failed and how to fix it. Paying for a plan buys the review and the monitoring; it never buys a passing result.
