Verification methodology

A trust badge is only worth what stands behind it. Here is exactly how GlobalDirectoryPages verifies a business and keeps that verification honest over time.

1. Identity & registry cross-checks

We cross-reference the business name, website, address, and phone against public business registries, licensing bodies, and web presence signals. Mismatches lower the trust score and route the listing to manual review.

2. Structured credential validation

Businesses enter license numbers, insurance policies, and registrations through structured forms — never document uploads. Our AI validates each credential against the issuing body's public records where available, records the verification method and source, and tracks expiry dates.

3. Trust, health & fraud scoring

Every verification produces three scores: Trust (0–100, overall reliability), Health (operational stability), and Fraud risk. Scores are computed from weighted check results, not self-reported data. A business must pass all critical checks to earn a badge.

4. Continuous monitoring

Verification is not one-time. Every verified business is re-checked every 24 hours. If a credential expires, a registry record changes, or a check starts failing, the badge is suspended automatically and the owner is alerted by email and in-app notification.

5. Remediation & restoration

When a check fails, owners get a specific remediation path. Once the issue is resolved and re-verified, the badge is restored automatically. The full decision history is kept in an audit trail.

6. Human oversight

Borderline cases, fraud signals, and credential disputes route to a human review queue. AI recommends; people decide on anything that affects a business's public standing.
