Roy Rogers Restaurants, based in Frederick, Maryland, is celebrating 55 years in business.
The Marriott Corp. opened the first Roy Rogers restaurant in Falls Church, Virginia in 1968 under the leadership of Pete Plamondon, Sr., according to a press release.
At its peak there were 648 stores. Hardee’s acquired the brand and subsequently sold the restaurants to various other restaurant chains.
Pete Jr. and Jim Plamondon bought the brand in the early 2000s and have spent the last two decades revitalizing it.

Our family values and strong belief in community are big factors in our success, in addition to our unbeatable food quality and menu offerings.”
Most recently, Roy Rogers announced the opening of its newest franchise in Cleves, Ohio, the first of 10 opening in Greater Cincinnati.
