We are seeking an experienced Accountant/Office Manager to fill a position for an established business in the Temple TX area. This is a direct hire, full time position. The successful candidate will be a “take charge” person with a do what it takes to get the work done personality. This is a confidential search, with additional details regarding the company provided through the interview process.
Compensation will be dependent upon qualifications.
This position will be responsible for the daily accounting related functions. These responsibilities will include but not limited to being responsible for performing routine accounting tasks for a government contractor, which include DCAA-compliant job costing and accounting, managing union and benefits reporting and payment, handling accounts payable and receivable, overseeing the payroll function, managing payroll and administrative staff (currently 2 people), and performing monthly and quarterly tasks, such as preparing income statements and balance sheets, contract profitability reports, department profitability reports and other reports required by the government and auditors. This position will also have some Human Resources responsibilities, such as onboarding, system maintenance, and overseeing employee counseling, discipline, bonus and termination functions for regulatory compliance.
Working hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Skills and Experiences
Prior Government Contracting Experience a MUST
Health and Welfare Deductions
ADP (for payroll)
A Bachelors in Accounting or related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting/financial experience
Prior experience in a Comptroller/Controller position is desirable
Prior experience in working with contracting work, including government contracts, will be a plus
Knowledgeable in overall Human Resources functions
